Martin Bennett ' s Old Green River Jazz Band

Maldon Town Regatta

Maldon Town Regatta has been held for generations. Smacks and old gaffers, traditional and modern yachts race up river from West Mersea to Osea and from there to the town in a second race, berthing at high water. There are many shoreside activities and stalls all day, with live music during the evening.

Waterways Triathlon

Pick up your paddles, pump up your bicycle tyres and dust off your running shoes for The Inland Waterways Association’s (IWA) first Waterways Triathlon in Essex. There is a choice of either a 50km or 30km course that will have you canoeing, cycling and running to the finish line. The Art Trail showcases the work of local artists in shops, cafés, and public buildings in and around Maldon. From paintings and photographs to sculptures, textiles, millinery, and paper-cutting, the diverse range of work that has appeared over the years proves time and time again, the talent of the region’s artists. Many of the exhibits will be displayed in windows and viewable 24/7 for the duration of the trail but please check the art trail website for more detail.
